HOOKS

the story so far… Outside othard; that was where Sune desired to be. With the dispute with his ex-tribe members fresh in his mind, the Xaela took off and went to living on his own. He found himself in Eorzea, now considered a traitor of his home and used his time to grow stronger in more unique ways. While Sune hadn't lent his name, his abilities were far too capable of letting his mysterious nature impede his services. Monster-hunting, body-guarding, anything the common eorzean could think of, there was seemingly a stranger prepared to take on the task. Labor work was nothing to Sune, and it helped him adjust to his new surroundings. It wasn't until he met the underworld of the land had Sune's true nature finally roused. The Crime mixing with his activities never was a thought in his head, though when new connections introduced him to it, he realized its power. For all Sune's life he was told he was too much or too little; no leader fit enough to carry a tribe. But, in the underworld, he had become his own person. No boundaries were too intense and, to that, Sune considered the line of work perfect.currently, Sune has picked up a name for him. Though mostly an odd-jobber at first, new connections had him step into something more serious. He's dabbled as a pit fighter, more than enthusiastic to fight whoever (or whatever) is thrown at him; no prize money needed. It puts him in the light, or rather the darkness, of the new world he's been introduced to. And Sune himself wonders what he can become with it.
COMMON

busywork. During Sune's first days in Eorzea, it wasn't uncommon for him to take up requests for odd-jobs. Be it needing someone to guard you during the night, or simply asking for someone to carry heavy luggage for you, your character may have had that one shot encounter with him.Sune still also takes these jobs every so often, albeit it isn't as common anymore—and mostly for the sketchier crowd.uncivil. Despite living outside the Azim Steppes, Sune still keeps his lifestyle more or less the same. You can typically find him hunting wild animals or even living in the wilderness itself as a preference.
The only residence he sometimes frequents that resembles a more modern life is a bed & breakfast called "Matron's compass"; ran by a lalafellian woman. Details can be found here.bloody entertainment. As said, Sune has recently chosen to mix into more superficial businesses. Though no person of chains, he is a willing pit fighter; most notably seen at the Coliseum. He lives for the victories, whether it's against beast or man, and your character could easily be a challenger or a spectator betting gil on him.underworld. Though Sune isn't what you would imagine as "high society" in the underworld, he's not immune to showing up at social gatherings involving them. Despite being someone who hardly starts conversation, many find him endearing with his silent and disorderly demeanor.bloody fists. And, even without a stage, Sune isn't afraid to raise his fists. He welcomes a brawl and some say that, despite how cold his outward appearance is, he's eager to be a teacher to whoever wants it. Just don't expect it to be easy. The raen. The sister clan of the Xaela are a part of the few outsiders who receive Sune's version of compassion. Tied to his beliefs and folk stories passed down within his branch of the family, it is common etiquette to treat any Raen he comes across with respect. Though his customs can only excuse so much of his naturally disgruntled behavior.
UNCOMMON

qerels. Sune was raised beside three sisters who were acknowledged for their strength. He was privately exiled ( the reason unknown to anyone that isn't his father. It is told that Yesun decided to run and abandon them ) around aged eighteen. Your character may have known him from that time or find suspicion of his heritage due to his similar fighting techniques of qerel warriors.inner beast. Or otherwise known as the will of karash. Instead of learning how to tame the beast within him, Sune chose to live beside it. He does not share the same beliefs as the qerels seeing it as a curse, nor does he see it as a blessing like the chaghans. Rather, he views at a challenge. A gift he must earn to utilize it properly. THerefore, there are still rare times when Sune finds himself exhausted by the Karash. And while he has a fair handle of it, he has no means or knowledge to control it completely.
RARE

the nameless. Sune's group of exiled Xaela that fled with him to the mountains. While only a rumor in the Azim Steppe, his years as the honorary Khan were very much real. Thanks to the moons he spent with these temporary tribe members, Sune is knowledgable of various different xaela traditions.chaghans. While it was short-lived, Sune did tolerate the chaghans for some time. However, he will show open disdain towards them if he meets any in eorzea.

HISTORY
all subject to change.

❝ *my sisters were born strong. *
Originally a Qerel, Yesun always felt like he had something to prove. Compared to other families within his tribe, his own bred some of the finest warriors; older sisters, parents. All being Xaelans utterly devoted to their clan’s name. Yesun’s Mother and Father raised him in the same way. As the first son of four children, they expected nothing but greatness from him, seeing how their daughters alone conquered through their sharp claws and brute strength.Sadly, Yesun wasn’t born a gifted child. On the contrary, no matter how hard he worked, he struggled to even prove himself during his coming of age — the bones he wore as armor being only a pitiful reminder of all the scars he kept gaining it. Their youngest son was nothing but average, perhaps even less despite the legacies his lineage carried.Yesun knew that.So did the rest of his tribe. But out of everyone, it was Yesun’s Father who couldn’t accept that his offspring was anything but exemplary. More than often he and his Father would go out within the wilderness of the Steppe, training rigorously to keep him in shape. Rumors went so far as to say there were nights when Yesun was left to fend for himself, dropped in its more precarious locations alone for days merely to hone his skills. Each Tsagaan Sar, Yesun strived to be better than the last. The grueling treatment of his Father was necessary. If he could not fight, his existence lacked honor, and he would’ve rather exchanged it for his death. Then, the time came. One night during his practicum sessions in seclusion, the Dusk Mother finally granted him solace——Through Karash, who bestowed him with unstoppable strength.Yesun was elated. Ecstatic, even. While many would sob from shame, he knew that this ‘curse’ would be seen as a good fortune for someone like him. So when his Father arrived to evaluate his improvements, Yesun relayed the news through the ruins and destruction that circled around him.“Do you see now, Father?” was what he said. “I will be able to be strong now.”Yesun’s parent set his larger hands around the teenage Xaela’s shoulders. He hoped to see a smile. One of the first that his Father actually meant. But instead, he noticed a grave look in his eyes. Struck by anger, guilt, and above all else fear that he never looked at him with before.“Run. Leave, Yesun. Do not tell this to anyone else.” under a low tone. “You are no longer my son once morning comes.”The Taken were terrible people. They were savages who brought chaos everywhere they went. Yesun believed he was different. Nhaama gave this curse as a challenge for him to overcome, to unleash his true potential the same as the rest of her Warriors. And still, he became exiled. As if all his hard work was removed from their sight.

❝ *i had to earn my birthright. *
While the Chaghans offered a home to Yesun, his time with them was nothing but filled with disgust, despite being exiled for the same reasons. He suffered a few winters with them to learn more about his primal instincts, only to vanish from their sight once he was knowledgeable enough on the subject.Yesun had still been loyal to the Qerel clan, even after his Father's estrangement. He took a few questioning stragglers within the Chaghans, new Taken without a home, and made a small tribe who hid in the northern mountains. They called themselves nothing, all Xaelas, mostly ones consumed by Karash, all exiled for whatever reason who still planned to somehow return to their true home. If one of them could be powerful enough to become the Khagan one day, or perhaps if their strength was a feat their old tribe couldn’t ignore, they’d be able to re-earn their name.Yesun was the khan of this secluded tribe. Despite his lack of physical talent, he stifled that with his natural leadership and readiness to react to rougher conditions. He was hardly an adult at the time, with many others being of similar age or even younger. Children who firmly trusted that one day, they’d be able to return to their village again. But as moons passed. And Yesun grew older. The nature of his Father and his need for approval projected onto his found clan members. Punishments had become stricter. “Training” equated to leaving the weaker Xaelas to fight battles they could not win, a significant death of A Tumet child who was scolded by Yesun for the same reasons he was exiled. Whether consumed by the want of power, anger, or both, everyone was beginning to see the nature that Yesun was slowly growing into. He believed this management was crucial. Without it, no one would ever escape the mountains and be acknowledged by their blood. He hadn’t needed the Will of Karash to recognize that.

❝ *the weak die before they get theirs. *
The Chaghan he grew the closest to. Who saw Yesun’s passion to return to the Qerels as gospel and helped create their nameless youth. He was the one who challenged him under the rain and declared his position as an act of tyranny. A battle of blood and ripped skin, one that Yesun lost as the clouds subsided.“You promised us we’d have a chance of a second future,” he spat. “And what do you give us, Yesun? Instead, you steal theirs?”Younger Xaela ate alive. Others were injured to the point where they lost hope of ever going back. Yesun saw nothing but fools who led themselves to their own demise. If they couldn’t control their inner beasts, their weaknesses, whatever ailment that ushered them here. Then whatever honor they kept close to their home, very well might have been a lie they convinced themselves to be true.Yesun, now Sune, realized nothing was his fault, only their own. And without people like Sune their tribe would soon collapse into nothingness without the type of power they needed. He left the Azim Steppe, stretching far and wide into a more foreign world; one where his name and history were separated from his body.He would grow stronger there, Sune believed. What others despised him for, elsewhere it would be praised.Little had Sune known that Eorzea was not that simple. And the light Sune thought he owned may have been a darkness waiting to awaken all this time.

MISC
• sune's face is often covered as he wears different attires for his coliseum matches.• Owns a trained hawk named Yul.• "sune yone" isn't his real name. it was given to him by a lallafellian woman he came in contact with after exploring eorzea without lending his identity. it eventually became a name he simply told everyone for the sake of not being bothered.• To be added in time.
NAMELESS HUUS

A 'tribe' rumored to be located in the northern mountains of the OThardian steppe. One of the few tribes that consists of exiles. Many of its members are children and young adults. While it is technically considered a Xaela Tribe, it is more accurately a band of people who one day wish to return to their previous family for their respective reasons and have no interest with outsiders/joining other clans. Most still wear the colors of the tribe they are loyal to. Others go so far as to continue practicing their original customs.they will spend winters after winters training deep within the range, mentally preparing themselves for the day they attempt to return to their family.
QERELS

Information on Sune's branch of the qerels here. However, all of them are warriors and not one of them has ever fallen into the madness of their inner beasts until Sune's undoing. They also excel in hunting, particularly fish and all have a tradition with being bariachis, or, bonesetters, sune included.important terms sune still uses in eorzea -• ordu : camp.
• khan : the leader of a group.
• udgan/buge : shaman / healers.
• nerge : "the great hunt". an event that happened every winter, to ensure food, good vitality, and morale.
• noker : comrade/associate.
• Family Excelled into fighting / often participated in smaller tournaments; style similar to real-life Bökh Wrestling. All three of his eldest sisters are known champions of said activity. The second youngest, Alaqa, winning twice in their tribe's informal battles --- and acquiring the honorary title of titan.• Legends of Sune's particular family say that his ancestors once significantly brought peace to the Dusk mother and dawn father's children. Though soldiers who thrived in battle, made to bring ruin to the Raen for the sake of Nhaama's land, a story is passed on that they led a raen child back to their village after a Steppe Tiger encounter.Ever since then, it seems like unspoken tradition to help their sister clan when in need, despite their strict views on outsiders.• Swimming is a known pastime within Sune's family. While many Xaela are mistaken for scaleskin, Sune's family fall more into the lines of wavekin (especially the Elbsts) due to their lesser scales and underwater attributes. They make use of their horns and claws especially to fish, being born with natural sharp horns capable of spearing their prey.• Sune's eldest sister had also been their long-running udgan. They personally believed that, especially in sea life, the spirits within the animals could help with ailments and good fortune; specializing in fish oils that Sune still practices with to this day.

STORY #1
Luluzu never found this type of activity with much interest. Despite the crowds of excitement telling her otherwise, it was a droll scene; awaiting whatever entertainment that decided to enter next. Perhaps if she was younger, more inexperienced, this would’ve brought more of a thrill she preferred. Even with the glimpses of gil flashing into her vision, the lalafellian woman’s expression remained neutral — almost in a state of defeat, stifling a yawn as her eyes shifted to whichever gambler was the loudest. This was the place where, if you knew you had the coins for it, you would go. Unfortunately, for Luluzu, she was now fighting to find a penny to put in her name.A pity, how the world spoiled you just as quick as it spat you out.
“So,” she hummed, resting a hand behind her back. “Someone must know of our chosen spectacle of the day. Care to fill in a curious little lady?”It was, at least, a relief that her failures hadn’t reached here. Assuredly, she knew that her newest reputation would eventually spread. But now, she would revel in someone else’s misery rather than her own. She had no particular reason to be here other than that, after all.Another lalafell who seemingly heard her words laughed, both in prior commotion and disbelief. He was clearly younger than her with messy, blonde hair and hands that were essentially riding against the rails of the Coliseum. Truly, she must be losing her touch if others such as him became so riled up. Once you saw one Bloodsands gladiator, you’ve seen the rest of them, in her opinion.“You don’t know?” he asked. “That Au ra, he’s going to fight another beast again. I’ve heard they brought a whole monster from the Far East just for him to take down. To think he does this all without a bloody reward. My wallet hasn’t been this heavy in ages…”Multiple points caught Luluzu’s attention. However, she settled to question what stuck out most. “Au ra? He?”“Aye. He showed up here one day and hasn’t left since. And he has no ties to the Bloodsands, either.”Oddly enough, Luluzu’s indifference turned opposite to the other’s explanation. The greed in her eyes sparkled at their words, and she felt the heat fall beneath her breath.

“And the name?” she hurriedly responded, “Surely, such a rare specimen must be known far and wide, right?”Luluzu’s fervor was slowly becoming the other’s discomfort. With lips that smiled as if not to “disrespect” his elders, he nodded. “Uh, sorry miss, I don’t know it…” His fingers scratched against his head, using his confusion to return his eyes back towards the center. “I don’t think anyone does right now…” Blessed by the Twelve to not have to focus on the woman who was now inches away from him, he heard the screams of the crowd become louder.“L-Look! That must be him! Excuse me, miss!”

Luluzu disregarded her source of information scattering to cheer alongside the crowd, attention set at the gates which were finally opening. On one end, an exotic animal with orange fur and long fangs pounced out with a snarl that caused a few people to back up as a retort. On the other, there was a significantly smaller being bearing nothing but basic steel armour and an axe about the size of themselves.“A tiger!” someone around her shouted, “He’s going to battle a tiger!”’A tiger?!’ Luluzu thought. Hardly anyone in Eorzea had seen nor heard of one of those before, let alone be alive to tell the tale. If it wasn’t for her child’s journey within the Far East, Luluzu would’ve been clueless about what that word meant.Unable to watch the match properly, Luluzu huffed as she stood in her seat. This was no way a woman like her should’ve been treated, nonetheless, it was too much of a clustered scene to have anyone notice.Still, the blood rushing in her veins was enough for her not to care. When she noticed the dark horns pop out of the fighter’s helmet, her heart skipped a beat.It was a body that Luluzu had never seen before. Lanky, yet built. Beastlike, yet so human. And my word, with what she was able to view from their face they had orange, striking pupils that made Luluzu’s grin twist in obvious attraction. Au ra men were irregular in Ul’dah, which was easily inferred simply by her own reaction. She was glued onto him, no different from what a predator would be after it marked its prey. Then, the Au Ra yelled. Not in ill will, but through a bloodthirsty rage that countered the beast’s own; swinging his weapon to defend him from the tiger’s claws. The Au ra’s pupils diverted into shades of red, gaining what appeared to be the strength of ten men.
Luluzu’s own hues of pink widened. That Au ra had an inner beast.
